Groeide op in Driehuis, waar hij menige namiddag zoek maakte in de bossen rond het dorp. De vijvers en de vele bunkers uit de Tweede Wereldoorlog die daar verscholen liggen, vormden de inspiratiebron voor 'De Soep'. Na zijn studie Archeologie in Amsterdam, werkte hij in de IT en de milieutechniek en belandde uiteindelijk op de redactie van Nederlands grootste archeologisch adviesbureau. Hij heeft een vrouw en twee kinderen en is een van de trotse winnaars van de enige literaire wedstrijd die er volgens mij echt toe doet, de Harland Award (destijds in 1994 nog de Millennium Prijs geheten). Won in eerste instantie de Rob Vooren aanmoedigingsprijs en in 1994 de King Kong Award. In 2008 is hij met zijn gezin naar Castelldefels in Spanje vertrokken, waar hij schrijft, kookt, fotografeer en aan oude fotocamera’s pruts.</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
