Speciaal in zijn rol als detective maakt hij tegenstanders, maar ook vaak zichzelf, het leven lastig. In dit deel beleven we met onze Agaton Sax, hoe uit het telexapparaat van zijn eigen krant het bericht komt, dat hij (bij vergissing) voor de hoofdverdachte van een bende geldvervalsers wordt gehouden. Steeds weer weet Agaton zich op het laatste moment door middel van zijn buiksprekerij en zijn vaardigheid in de edele Jiujitsukunst, uit hachelijke situaties te redden. Bij de ontknoping van het hele complot blijkt onder meer, dat niet alleen de bende, maar ook een hele opsporingsafdeling van Scotland Yard zich door Agaton Sax’s detectivelisten heeft laten strikken. Dat een en ander met de nodige dosis humor gepaard kan gaan, blijkt wel uit dit eerste deel van een reeks speurdersromans voor de jeugd, dat uniek in Nederland is!</ins></div></td></tr> </table>
